About Lori Dee Sugden
I’m an independent researcher and writer who’s always been curious about how things work — whether that’s a river system, an electronic circuit, a social structure, or the deeper patterns behind human experience.

I spend much of my time gold prospecting and rock hounding, studying placer deposits in the Black Hills and the Rocky Mountains. My approach is simple: observe carefully, test deliberately, and follow the evidence. Over time, that mindset shaped not just how I work in the field, but how I think about everything else.

I’m also a disabled U.S. Army veteran, and over the years I’ve studied a wide range of subjects — geology, electronics, programming, robotics, psychology, health, and clinical hypnotherapy. I’ve always believed learning carries a responsibility: if you understand something clearly, you should be able to explain it clearly.

That belief carries into my writing.

In my speculative fiction, I explore systems, consequences, and the limits of engineered order. In my field guides, I focus on practical methods grounded in physics and geology rather than rumor or hype. In my spiritual writing, I examine the idea that the universe operates according to consistent laws — and that understanding those laws can help us live more deliberately.

Across it all, the common thread is structure. I’m interested in the rules that govern things — and what happens when we learn to see them.

Life is good.
